MATCH PREVIEW MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

---

Reds went down 2-0 away at Oita Trinita in J1 last weekend. This followed a promising draw away at Kawasaki Frontale and a home win over Sagan Tosu. Their exertions in the Asian Champions League – winning over two legs – may have taken something out of them, and they amazing 3-0 away win to progress in that competition saw them tired last weekend, but I feel they will bounce back now and start to salvage their season.

Vegalta were triumphant in a 2-1 home win over Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo last weekend in J1, with goals from Simao Mate and Kunimitsu Sekiguchi. They have four league wins running but three of those have been at home and, in fact their only win – their only points – away was against the very poor Matsumoto Yamaga. I don't see another away win here!

With Reds' energy returning and confidence rising as they approach their ACL quarter-final, up against Vegalta's poor away record, I expect Reds to get on the winning track here.

SECOND PREDICTION: HILO - LOW

---

Only 31% of Reds' league games this season have seen more than two goals total scored and they have scored just 13 themselves. On the other hand they have a decent defence – just 21 conceded – giving a total of 34 goals scored in Reds' league matches. I see another low-scoring game here.

HEAD TO HEAD

In J1 matches between these two teams last season Reds won at home and drew away, while earlier in 2019 saw a 0-0 draw.
