Tromso are without Runar Espejord and Sigurd Gronli.

Amin Askar, Jorgen Horn, Bjorn Utvik and Jon Helge Tveita are still absent through injury for Sarpsborg. In addition, Gaute Hoberg Vetti is marked as a doubt.

Tromso lost heavily away at Lillestrom in their last league game, with their 4-0 defeat halting a run of three straight wins in the league. Despite that disappointing result, the side have made Alfheim a difficult place for many teams to visit recently, having won their last two home league matches. The club’s overall form this season has been poor though and despite a brief recent revival they are still dangerously close to the relegation zone. Energetic midfielder Onni Valakari has played every minute of every league game this season, scoring twice, and he continues to be a key part of the team.

Sarpsborg drew 2-2 at home against fellow strugglers Stromsgodset in their last league outing. Worryingly, they have won only one of their last nine league matches (four draws, four losses), but they are at least unbeaten in their last three (one win, two draws). Sarpsborg have failed to win on the road in the league so far, drawing three times and losing twice. There simply hasn’t been too much creative flair in the team this term and perhaps this is one reason for their lack of goals, having scored only 12.

Tromso have been in great form in recent weeks and should make use of home advantage. A home win is on the cards.

I think Tromso can edge out Sarpsborg in this league match and I will predict a narrow 1-0 win. The northern club have won their last three league games by a single goal margin, with the latest two ending 1-0. A repeat seems possible.

Both sides won their respective away league fixtures last season. Sarpsborg clinched a 2-0 victory in Tromso and Tromso won 3-2 in Sarpsborg.
