Toronto FC gained a point on their trip out to Vancouver in the league last weekend with a late 1-1 draw, but they are still winless in their past six league matches. They fell behind in the 84th minute after conceding a penalty kick but substitute Nick DeLeon's 90th-minute shot was deflected into the net for the equalizer. The result gives Toronto just two draws and four defeats in the past six league outings and they have won only two of the past 11 league contests with six losses and three draws. They can count themselves lucky to still be in the thick of things in the fight for a playoff spot in the East with their 18 points.

Sporting Kansas City has lost just one of their last four league games with two draws and a win after playing to a 1-1 league draw in Houston last weekend. The short hot streak is much needed considering they were struggling in the league with three draws and three losses in the six matches beforehand. Sporting Kansas took the lead through Yohan Croizet in the 63rd minute but gave up the equalizer just six minutes later. Tim Melia was solid in goal for Sporting Kansas and earned man of the match honours. They have just three wins in the league on the season though to go with six draws and five losses and are below the playoff line in the West. The team have played some close league games as they have been outscored just 25-24 on the season.

Toronto FC hasn't beaten Sporting Kansas City in the last nine league meetings, losing six and drawing three, but their luck is bound to change. The visitors are winless on the road in league action with three draws and three losses and with Toronto being at home I think they will beat their injury-plagued opponents.

Toronto FC typically win or lose their league matches due to their second-half performances since they have been level in seven of their 14 league games. I am expecting this league contest to be level at the break, too.

Last year's league fixture ended in a 2-2 draw in Kansas City. The last two league meetings have been draws preceded by four straight Sporting Kansas City victories, including two in Toronto.
