Suspended: Mikuni Kennedy Egbus (one game - yellow card accumulation)

Doubtful: None

Injured/Unavailable: Daisuke Ishizu (leg injury), Naoya Kikuchi (unannounced), Takayuki Morimoto (unannounced).

Goals from Junki Koike and Yuhei Sato – one in each half – were enough to give Verdy a -1 home win over V-Varen Nagasaki last weekend in J2. After three defeats in four from the beginning of the campaign manager Gary White said he was feeling the pressure but he is slowly getting results with just one defeat in the last eight league games now for Verdy, although we do see five draws in there. With the J2 table so compact, as always, they sit in 13th position, just five points from the play-offs but also only three points from the relegation spots.

Avispa managed a 1-1 away draw at Zweigen Kanazawa last weekend in J2, thanks to a late Felix Micolta equaliser. Avispa started the campaign with four defeats from six league games but have improved and, in their last six league matches have two wins and two draws to ease relegation pressure a little. They are still not playing as well as the sum of their talent should be and are just a single point outside the relegation places.

Verdy's confidence growing, the players becoming familiar to their new manager, and unbeaten run, home advantage, all add up to a Verdy win for me.

Since their form improved Verdy have seen six of their last eight league games end with two goals or less. Likewise Avispa have seen just four of their 12 matches so far have more than two goals.

In J2 matches between these two teams last season we saw two draws.
