Sweden: Wants to avoid the Netherlands and Canada ( Recent Form: L W W W W )

Sweden, too, this World Cup is flawless, although the Scandinavian ladies were unable to impress as much as the United States. Against Chile, the country initially ran into a South American wall, but struggled through two late goals to a hard-fought 0-2 victory. Against weak Thailand, however, the women of national coach Peter Gerhardsson never ran into problems. As it was already at a comfortable 3-0 lead at half time, Sweden could afford to take some gas back in the second half and record a simple 5-1 win. Like the United States, Sweden already has a starting ticket for the eighth finals, although the country will have to beat the United States in order to avoid the Netherlands or Canada in the eighth finals. Sweden will have to deliver a top performance on Thursday evening. The defense of the yellow-blue is top, but the Swedish vanguard regularly fails. The fact that it remained so tense against weak Chile speaks volumes in that regard. However, with a silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games and two thirds places at a World Cup, Sweden is and remains one of the traditional powerhouses in global women's football.

United States: Is sufficient for a draw ( Recent Form: W W W W W )

For the United States, the World Cup is going well for the time being. The girls of national coach Jill Ellis were in their opening game with a monster victory of no less than 13-0 (!) Minced from poor Thailand, and also in their second group match against Chile (3-0) never got into trouble. Thanks to these victories, the United States, like Sweden, is already assured of a place in the eighth finals, although it is very important to end as a group winner. In first place in group F, Spain will be the opponent, a country that USWNT should, in principle, be able to have easily. In a second place, however, a confrontation with the number two in group E, the Netherlands or Canada, awaits. These are both strong countries that you would rather not meet until later in the tournament. After the thirteen-blower against Thailand, the goal difference is, of course, amply in favor of the United States, so the American ladies have enough against Sweden to secure a group win. The country is currently cooler than most other World Championship participants, because against Chile, Ellis kicked off no fewer than seven new faces compared to the opening match. Against Sweden, many players are likely to return to the starting line-up, including superstar Alex Morgan and captain Megan Rapinoe.

THE BETTING VERDICT:

After all, both teams are strong teams, so they rarely concede too much. For American women, even Jill Ellis's team kept clean sheets in all six matches, while Swedish women have not yet received the second goal in the last six matches. In the last 5 encounters between 2 teams, there were no more than 2 goals scored.
