Swansea top scorer Oli McBurnie was an unused substitute at the weekend while Joe Rodon played for the final ten minutes after recovering from a foot injury. Wayne Routledge, who returned to the starting XI against Middlesbrough, and Bersant Celina, are doubtful after their involvement. Leroy Fer and Martin Olsson remain out.

Stoke’s Thomas Ince is awaiting a scan after a problem with his hamstring. Bojan Krkic and Ryan Shawcross should be available despite coming off early at the weekend because of a knee in the back.

Suspended: None

Doubtful: Bersant Celina (unspecified), Wayne Routledge (fatigue)

Injured/unavailable: Leroy Fer (hamstring), Martin Olsson (Achilles tendon)

Swansea have picked up form with last weekend’s league match seeing the Swans register back-to-back victories as they dominated struggling Middlesbrough in a 3-1 home success. Graham Potter’s men have netted six goals in their last two league fixtures after scoring just once in their previous three league outings. The team have now won their last four home league matches and are unbeaten in their last seven on their own turf in league action with five wins and two draws.

Stoke finally ended their goal drought in the last round after going goalless in their previous four league contests. Their 1-0 win away at fellow mid-table side Blackburn was just what the doctor ordered after four consecutive 0-0 draws in league action, although the winning margin could have been more substantial. The Potters have now kept a clean sheet in their last six league outings and have won two and drawn seven of their last nine.

Stoke are difficult to break down, but Swansea have been convincing at home and are firing on all cylinders. I expect them to penetrate the Potters’ defence and make it home league win number five here.

Swansea have scored first in three of their last four league meetings with Stoke. They are far more proficient up front than their opponents at the moment and I expect them to break the deadlock again.

Stoke have won the last three league meetings in a row, and have lost only once against Swansea in league action since May 2015, winning five times and drawing once along the way.
