Stabaek beat Stromsgodset 2-0 away in their round 14 league fixture. Amahl Pellegrino missed an early penalty for the hosts and it was a pivotal moment in the league game. A goal from Ola Brynhildsen in the first half and a second-half strike from Luc Kassi wrapped up the points for Stabaek. The Baerum club were also in midweek action against Odd BK, losing 2-1. At home, Stabaek haven’t won in their last three home league matches (one draw, two losses) and they have failed to score a single goal along the way.

After one win and two draws in league action, Sarpsborg suffered a 2-0 loss away at Tromso in their round 14 league fixture. Goals in the 18th and 54th minutes were enough for the hosts. Sitting second from bottom, Sarpsborg have failed to win any of their six away league matches this season (three draws, three losses), a run that has seen them find the net just four times. In recent weeks, Jorgen Larsen has been one of their better performers, but the youngster will miss this league match after being called up to the Norway Under- 19 squad.

Just two points separate these sides in the table, but I think Stabaek can finally win a home league game after a three-game winless run at the Nadderud Stadium.

The last five league meetings between these clubs have produced at least three total goals each. Even though both clubs haven’t been known for their attacking prowess this season, this could be another encounter when both explode with goals. I predict a high-scoring contest.

Sarpsborg haven’t lost against Stabaek in the league for three meetings, winning twice and drawing once. They registered a 4-2 home league win and 3-1 away league victory last season.
