Sport Recife goalkeeper Magrao received his third yellow card on Saturday and is now suspended for this match.

Gremio are on the verge of selling wide midfielder Jailson and the youngster is unavailable to play with the negotiations ongoing. Everton, who scored the winner against America Mineiro last time out, is suspended for this one after receiving his third booking.

Sport Recife

Suspended: Magrao

Doubtful: None

Injured/unavailable: Rogerio (hip), Claudio Winck (hamstring), Neto Moura (calf)

Suspended: Everton

Doubtful: None

Injured/unavailable: Alisson (hamstring), Pedro Geromel (international duty), Douglas (cruciate ligament); Jailson (negotiating transfer)

Seventh-placed Sport Recife visited mid-table outfit Vasco da Gama at the weekend and looked destined to travel back home with a point, but conceded a late winner in the 90th minute. The match ended 3-2 in the hosts' favour and put an end to Sport's five-match unbeaten run, with three wins and two draws.

Gremio cleverly defeated America Mineiro 1-0 at home on Sunday, sneaking into the top four on 19 points after 11 rounds. The game itself wasn’t exciting, but Gremio finally showed maturity and composure after failing to win their previous three home matches (two draws, one loss). Midfielders Luan and Cicero were impressive, but it was Everton who scored the winner.

This is a tough one to predict because Sport Recife are strong at home with three wins and two draws, while Gremio surprisingly are the joint best visitors alongside leaders Flamengo. Gremio leapfrogged a disappointing Sport Recife at the weekend and they will be looking to keep their top four spot over the World Cup break. I therefore think they will grab this win.

Three out of Sport Recife’s last five matches have ended 3-2 while the teams' last four meetings have produced 3.5 total goals on average. Expect a high-scoring affair here too.

Sport Recife have won four and lost only one of their last five encounters with Gremio. However, that defeat arrived in their latest meeting in September last year when they received a 5-0 beating away at Gremio.
