S-Pulse will still be missing Hideki Ishige, Yuji Rokutana and Jong Tae Se this weekend.

Antlers have Tomoya Inukai missing training right now and he should be considered doubtful. Shogo Sasaki is a long-term absentee.

Douglas and Renato Augusto were the scorers last weekend in J1 as S-Pulse took a point in an away 2-2 draw at Kawasaki Frontale. It was probably quite a relief after an 8-0 home thrashing the week before. S-Pulse have managed two wins in six league games to ensure that they steer a little clear of the relegation places, but they are only five points clear of safety and will be very much under pressure, especially in front of a noisy impatient home crowd that saw them concede eight goals in that last home game.

Antlers took a point in a 2-2 home draw against Gamba Osaka last weekend in J1, with Serginho and Sho Ito scoring their goals. With just one defeat in their last 11 league games Antlers are poised to take over the top spot sooner rather than later and a win here could set them up with a real six-pointer for the no.1 place in J1 next week when they meet FC Tokyo. A lot in this game could depend on how well Antlers did in their Asian Champions League quarter final 1st leg on Wednesday night, against Guangzhou Evergrande. The selection of the team, and even their approach to this game could go many ways.

A tight game, or even a draw in the ACL in midweek may change the team here but even Antlers 2nd XI is probably too good for S-Pulse and, those who do get the chance to play if some 1st XI Antlers are rested, will take the opportunity to shine. An away win whichever way the ACL is going.

Antlers are the masters of doing just enough when they need to and conserving energy for bigger battles. They have scored more than two goals just once in their last 12 league games, and have scored a single goal in 11 of their 24 league games to date. At the other end they have nine clean sheets this campaign. A 0-1 scoreline seems a likely bet for me.

In J1 matches between these two teams last season Antlers won at home and drew away, while earlier this season Antlers also won at home, 3-0.
