Telstar have Jasper van Heertum and Darren Rosheuvel listed as doubtful.

Jong AZ Alkmaar’s goalkeeper Rody de Boer played last week after being sidelined with an injury. He should feature in the upcoming league games.

Telstar beat bottom-three side Dordrecht 1-0 at home last time out to cement their place in 16th. The team now have a nine-point lead over 17th-placed Jong AZ Alkmaar, but are five points behind FC Eindhoven, who are one place above them. Terell Ondaan provided the winning goal in the 38th minute. The result also marked their second league win in a row and ninth league victory in total, having drawn four and lost 15 times this term. Worryingly, Telstar have failed to score more than once in any of their last ten league games.

Jong AZ Alkmaar pulled off a decent 1-1 draw at Jong Ajax in Amsterdam last week. They took the lead in the 65th minute as Jeremy Helmer scored his first goal of the season before conceding the equaliser four minutes later. The point has allowed Jong AZ Alkmaar to move one spot up into 17th place and they are now unbeaten in their last four league matches, winning once and drawing three times.

However, Jong AZ Alkmaar have been woeful away from home in the league, winning just twice in their 14 away league matches (five draws, seven losses) and conceding in every single one of them. Despite Telstar’s poor goalscoring record, I do have them winning this league contest.

Telstar have won six of their last seven league victories by one goal and Jong AZ Alkmaar have shipped nearly two league goals on average this season. Expect a 2-1 win for the home side.

Telstar have won two and drawn one of their three league meetings with Jong AZ Alkmaar.
