MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Telstar travelled to Go Ahead Eagles for their most recent league contest. The visitors may have grasped their last chance to qualify for the playoffs as they booked a surprise 3-2 win. They took the lead against Go Ahead Eagles through a Ahmed Mendes Moreira goal in the very first minute of play, but conceded the first equaliser in the 11th minute. Telstar took the lead again later in the second half through a goal from Melle Springer, but just four minutes later they found themselves level again as they gave away a penalty. Substitute Dylan Mertens finally secured the win as he scored his second goal of the season in stoppage time. Telstar have now obtained 41 points and are six points below tenth place, which could still result in playoff qualification. Having won five and drawn one of their last six league matches, Telstar will go into this league contest confidently.

Cambuur posted a comprehensive 6-0 away win over Jong Ajax in league action in the last round. The youngsters were handing Cambuur all the room they needed. Two Sam Hendriks goals in the eighth and 37th minutes, as well a two Nigel Robertha goals in the 22nd and 32nd minutes and two Matthew Steenvoorden goals in the 11th and 67th minutes ensured the club’s record league victory. Cambuur have now moved into ninth place, with 13 wins, eight draws and 11 losses in league action. They have won four and lost only one of their last five league matches.

Both side have been doing rather well lately. I’m giving the edge to Telstar though, given that their last league loss dates back to February.

SECOND PREDICTION: ODD/EVEN - ODD

Telstar have scored a league worst 15 home league goals and have won all of their last four home league victories by only one goal. I don’t expect a big result and feel they will bag a victory by a one-goal margin here. I’m therefore backing odd total goals.

HEAD TO HEAD

Telstar have failed to win the last four times they hosted Cambuur in league action, drawing once and losing three times.
