MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN

Renofa held a 2-1 lead against FC Ryukyu until the 89th minute last Saturday night. Their goals came from Masato Kudo and Takumi Sasaki within three minutes of each other just after half time. It was a spirited display against the team who are top of J2, after going down a goal they replied with two immediately, then held on till very late (2-2). Renofa confound J2-watchers with inconsistency. They score a lot, they concede a lot. Just like last season, when we saw them score 63 goals but concede 64 in the league, 2019 looks like it is going a similar way. Against better teams they will lose games, but goals will come at both ends.

Takeru Kishimoto scored an early goal which proved to be enough to give Vortis a 1-0 win at home to Albirex Niigata last weekend. They have been a little too inconsistent for me so far this season but show promise and have the players to form an excellent team. They have scored in five of their six league matches and have a single goal in each of their last three games – where we see a win, a draw and a loss. The loss was against FC Ryukyu, so nothing to be concerned about, but they need more goals to improve results and confidence. Against Renofa Yamagichi could be their chance to score a few!

Vortis look as if they are ready to break through and start a decent run to move up the table. Renofa just look as if they will concede a goal at every attack! Vortis should take this chance to win, and by more than just 1-0!

SECOND PREDICTION: HILO - HIGH

With 11 goals scored and 14 conceded already, in just six league games, Renofa matches will always see goals. Vortis games have totaled 15 goals in six league matches – 2.5 goals per game, also. I see goals!

HEAD TO HEAD

Last season in J2 meetings between these two teams Renofa won away and drew at home.
