Renofa went down to a 4-0 home thrashing to V-Varen Nagasaki in J2 last weekend. They had won two of their last three league games before that and were looking as if they were ready to climb the table, but V-Varen destroyed them. They now have the chance to get back on track against a team that have been suffering recently and then the majority of the league games they have left are against bottom half teams.

Fagiano went down to a 3-0 defeat at home to Machida Zelvia last weekend in J2. This was after they had ended a run of three league defeats with a comprehensive away win. But they then went back to losing last weekend. While they are in reach of a top six place if they could put a winning run together, the injuries have – just like last season – hit them, and the team are tiring as the season comes to close. With six of their remaining matches against teams in the top half of the table, they have a tough run-in and may already have given up on any promotion hopes and just be satisfied they are not going to be in a relegation battle.

With Renofa looking slightly better to me in the last few league games, and with home advantage – only one defeat in their last six home league games – I feel Renofa can add to last week’s win with another here.

With 91 goals in total scored in Renofa’s 29 league games, it will always be hard to bet against there being less than three goals in any game involving the team. 17 of their league games this season have ended with a total of three goals or more. Expect goals again!

In J2 matches between these two teams last season Renofa won both matches while earlier this season we saw a 1-1 draw in Okayama.
