USA Major League Soccer(MLS) --- Portland Timbers VS Colorado Rapid

Livescore | Match Prediction & Tips| Asian Handicap Odds|Line-ups & H2H Stats

The Portland Timbers expect to be without Bill Tuiloma with Jeff Attinella, Modou Jadama and Jorge Villafana as questionable. The Colorado Rapids list Kortne Ford and Deklan Wynne as injured and Kellyn Acosta as suspended. Also, Jack Price and Sam Nicholson are questionable.

Portland Timbers

Suspended: None

Doubtful: Jeff Attinella (shoulder), Modou Jadama (leg), Jorge Villafana (thigh)

Injured/unavailable: Bill Tuiloma (thigh)

Colorado Rapids

Suspended: Kellyn Acosta

Doubtful: Jack Price (hip), Sam Nicholson (hamstring)

Injured/unavailable: Kortne Ford (knee), Deklan Wynne (foot)

Sebastian Blanco scored the only goal of the league game in the 14th minute as the Portland Timbers handed New York City their first home league loss of the season via a 1-0 scoreline last weekend. Diego Valeri was man of the match for the Timbers while goalkeeper Steve Clark earned his club's second consecutive clean sheet as they beat FC Dallas by the same score at home a week earlier. Even with six out of six points over the past week Portland's 23 points on the season see them below the playoff line in the West. However, they do have league games in hand on all the teams above them, which means they are still in the thick of the playoff race.

The bubble finally burst on the Colorado Rapids as they were doubled 2-1 at home by the New England Revolution in the league last week to see their seven-game league unbeaten run come to an end at five victories and two draws. It was the first league loss for new manager Conor Casey took over. The New England Revolution scored in the eighth and 52nd minutes in a league match that was delayed while in progress for over three hours due to bad weather. Diego Rubio pulled a goal back for the Colorado Rapids in the 71st minute but any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Kellyn Acosta was sent off with a second yellow card in injury time. Colorado stays at 19 points and in last place in the West.

With the Portland Timbers being at home and the Colorado Rapids having just one away league win this year I feel the hosts will take all three points.

Just one of the last five league meetings between these teams has featured fewer than three total goals. I expect at least three total goals in this league game, too.

The teams drew 3-3 in the league in Colorado in March. The Portland Timbers have four wins, two draws and two defeats in the last eight league meetings.
