MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

The Philadelphia Union visited Orlando City in midweek and left the Florida sunshine with a 3-1 league win. They entered the match on the heels of a 4-2 away league loss to New York City just four days earlier which snapped their four-game unbeaten streak of two wins and two draws in the league. Philadelphia currently has 35 points from 20 league games in the 2019 season and are legitimate contenders for first place in the Eastern Conference. They host Orlando City with a home league record of six wins, two losses and two draws while doubling the opposition in goals 22-11.

Orlando City entered their midweek league match against the Philadelphia Union with three wins and five losses in the past eight league outings and the outcome gives them 21 points in the league this year. They are still fighting for a playoff spot in the East but need to pick up points on a more consistent basis to reach the postseason. The side visit the Philadelphia Union for an instant rematch with a decent away league record of three wins, two draws and four losses while outscoring their hosts 10-8.

This is the second straight league meeting between the teams in less than a week and I feel the Philadelphia Union will build on their positive midweek result and take all three points at home.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST TEAM TO SCORE – PHILADELPHIA UNION

Orlando City has struck first in just seven of 18 league matches this season and I believe the Philadelphia Union will score the first goal here.

HEAD TO HEAD

The teams met in the league four days prior to this fixture in Orlando with the result being a 3-1 win for the Philadelphia Union. Last year's league encounters ended in a 2-2 draw in Orlando and a 2-0 victory for Orlando City in Philadelphia.
