MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

The Philadelphia Union took it on the chin in Salt Lake City in the league last weekend as Real Salt Lake drilled them 4-0. It was possibly the Union's worst showing of the league season as they didn't even register a shot on net. They allowed goals in the 23rd, 71st, 81st and 89th minutes as they left themselves open near the end of the league match when they went for an equalizer. They are now winless in the past two league contests with a draw and loss and have just three wins in their last ten league games with three losses and four draws. Nevertheless, the Union remains in first place and in good shape for the playoffs in the East with 36 points.

The Chicago Fire lost their second straight league match when they were humbled 2-1 at home by

FC Cincinnati last weekend. It was a crippling blow to lose to the league's bottom place team as the Fire need all the points they can muster to make the postseason in the East. They hosted the struggling Columbus Crew in midweek, their 2-2 league draw against the Crew leaves them with 23 points from five wins, eight draws and nine losses in league action.

The Chicago Fire will likely win an away league match sooner or later this season but they will be facing a very agitated Philadelphia Union side which is looking to bounce back from last week's embarrassing loss. I expect a home triumph.

SECOND PREDICTION: HILO – HIGH

The clubs combined for 11 total goals in two league meetings last season. I like the chances of at least three total goals in this clash.

HEAD TO HEAD

The Philadelphia Union won 4-3 in Chicago and 3-1 at home in the league last year.
