Paris Saint Germain: Can smell the title ( Recent Form: W W W L W )
With nine games remaining on the program, Parisians will be able to score a seventeen-point tie with the number two, AS Monaco, on Wednesday. Mathematically, the team of Unai Emery can already become champion on April 7, but more likely is the scenario that the Parisians can become a week later in the Parc des Princes champion in a direct duel against Monaco. Should Emery's team last the form of last weekend in the upcoming matches, then it is obvious that the Parisians will not lose points anymore. Against Metz, PSG dominated the entire first half and was already 4-0 at half time, partly due to two goals from Christopher Nkunku. In the second half, the Parisians released the accelerator, but the gap was extended to 5-0. In the absence of defining players such as top scorer Edinson Cavani and Neymar, youngster Christopher Nkunku was given a basic place for the second league match in a row. Nkunku had to do it up to two weeks ago with eleven short incursions, but now he got ninety minutes the chance he proved it right from his coach by giving a youth player a chance in the main power. Another youngster from the Parisians' training also got a chance to show his qualities to Metz. Timothy Weah, son of George Weah, was allowed to come in twenty minutes before time and, just like a week earlier, got his first chance as a pro with his debut in the main power of the Parisians.
Angers: Down against PSG again? ( Recent Form: L L W W D )
After two competition wins in a row, the team of Stéphane Moulin was spilled again last weekend against Bordeaux. Le SCO furiously started hoping to distance itself from the relegation zone, but attempts by Angelo Fulgini and top scorer Karl Toko Ekambi did not end between the posts. In the second half, Moulin's team was no longer shy of himself, but due to inaccuracies on the side of the Girondins and good intervention by Ludovic Butelle, who kept his goal clean for the second game in a row, the match ended with the same score scoreboard as where the game started, 0-0. Remarkable about the match against Bordeaux was the low number of violations that Le SCO committed. Prior to last weekend, Le Scoists did on average just under four offenses per game, against Bordeaux there were only eight, a week earlier, no less than twenty offenses were committed in the victory over Guingamp. A possible explanation for this is the lack of Thomas Mangani by, ironically, a suspension for collecting six yellow cards. Mangani belonged to the ten players in the Ligue 1 who committed the most violations this season and, if he continues his average, he ends at the end of the season, definitely in this questionable top ten.
After all, Ligue 1 is the home of PSG because there is not a tournament in Europe today that after 29 rounds, the top of the table wins 25 matches, draws 2 and scores 91 goals. They have gone from second place team Monaro to 14 points in the context of the tournament only nine rounds to finish. It can be said that the championship is firmly in the hands of teacher Unai Emery. Neymar is missing from injury but with stars such as Mbappe, Cavani or Di Maria in the squad, PSG is still too strong compared to the rest of France. Angers, despite being in poor form with their 3 games unbeaten, have been ruled out by their opponents PSG. With a PSG 2.5-3 fulltime, placing PSG players still has many chances of winning.
