Palmeiras defensive midfielder Felipe Melo was judged by the sports court and got a five match ban that started last round. Also, defensive midfielder Ramires is finally fully fit again and ready to play.

As for Corinthians, they fired their coach last weekend and signed with Athletico Paranaense's Tiago Nunes, who will only join the team next year. Until then, they will probably have Coelho in charge of them. Right now, they will have goalkeeper Cassio and right back Fagner coming back from their medical department.

Even though they are hosting this match, Palmeiras won't play it in their own stadium, where there's a concert happening this week. Instead, the match will be played at the Pacaembu, a stadium that Corinthians used as their home until 2013, but in the last eleven times they played there, Palmeiras had only one loss.

They are still trailing the leaders and even though the distance is not getting any shorter they have hopes of winning the title and count on their home form to stay close to the top – they have 12 wins and three draws in the 15 league matches (including 3 games played in the neutral ground) they played as hosts so far.

Luckily for them, this is the perfect moment to face their main rivals in this derby against Corinthians, as they have been far from their best right now, especially when they play as visitors, having failed to win the last five league away matches. Now, against one of the country's strongest teams, they will lose another one, as Palmeiras will get the home win.

Even though they have a fairly good defense and conceded only 28 times in the league this year, Corinthians allowed their opponents to score in their last four away league matches – a total of nine goals – while Palmeiras scored in all their 15 home matches (including 3 games played in the neutral ground)  in the Brasileiro so far, which is why this match will end with three or more goals, meaning a high score.

This is the third time these two clash in 2019 and with one win and one draw Corinthians are still unbeaten.
