MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Odd BK eased past Kristiansund 2-0 in Grenland in the league last weekend, after goals from Elbasan Rashani and Torgeir Borven wrapped up all three points for the hosts. It kept up Odd BK’s impressive start to the season, which has seen two wins as well as one draw, scoring six goals and conceding just three. The league win over Kristiansund means they remain in forth, sitting only two points away from the league leaders, and this week’s opponents, Viking. Veteran full back Espen Ruud has kept up his good form from last season. He still looks full of enthusiasm and has assisted two of the six league goals his club has scored.

Viking kept up their 100% start to the season when they beat rivals Brann 2-1 in Stavanger in the league last weekend. However, it was the visitors that dominated the first half, creating numerous chances, although none of them were clear cut. The league game turned on its head in the 64th minute when Kristian Thorstvedt kept up his good form with the first goal of the league match before YlIdren Ibrahimaj made it 2-0. The Bergen club did pull a goal back late on, but it was to no avail as Viking hung on. That goal was the first they have conceded this season, while at the other end of the field they have scored six.

Viking will find this league game against Odd BK their sternest test yet. The hosts have made a solid start to the 2019 season and have been one of the more attractive teams to watch. Home advantage will be key in this league contest as two in-form clubs go head to head. I will predict an Odd BK win, based purely on their home advantage as well as their confident and fluid style of play.

SECOND PREDICTION: CORRECT SCORE – 2-0

Odd BK have scored two goals on average in the league so far and beat Kristiansund 2-0 last week. I think it is be reasonable to expect a similar result when Viking come to town.

HEAD TO HEAD

Odd BK haven’t beaten Viking in their last three league meetings, losing two and drawing one.
