Norwich’s Emiliano Buendia is suspended after receiving a red card for a reckless challenge at the weekend. Carlton Morris returned to Under-23 action at the weekend, while there are doubts regarding Louis Thompson’s availability.

Reading’s Liam Anthony Kelly featured as an unused substitute against Hull City last time out, but Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, Anssi Jaakkola, Saeid Ezatolahi and Sam Baldock are still doubts while Jordan Obita misses out.

Suspended: Emiliano Buendia

Doubtful: Louis Thompson (knee)

Suspended: None

Doubtful: Jon Dadi Bodvarsson (back), Anssi Jaakkola (Achilles tendon); Saeid Ezatolahi, Sam Baldock (both thigh)

Injured/unavailable: Jordan Obita (cruciate ligament)

Norwich produced a convincing performance at home against struggling QPR in league action at the weekend, thrashing the visitors 4-0. They kept a clean sheet despite playing the final 20 minutes with ten men, going into half time three goals up. Leading the table with an impressive 84 points, the Canaries have won their last eight league fixtures on the bounce and have not conceded in the last two. With six league matches left to play, promotion to England’s top flight is now in touching distance for the side who also boast the best home record in the league with 14 wins, two draws and four losses.

Despite opening the scoring with a Lewis Baker goal in the 16th minute, three second-half strikes from Hull City condemned Reading to a 3-1 defeat last time out in league action. They had beaten top six aspiring Preston 2-1 at home in round 39, but one win, one draw and two losses from their last four league matches doesn’t bode well for the side who have a slim one-point lead over the bottom three.

22nd-placed Rotherham’s weekend league win over Nottingham Forest has increased the pressure on the Royals who are in the midst of the English second division’s relegation battle. A trip to the in-form table toppers is bound to come at just the wrong time, with the visitors unlikely to return with a positive result. An easy home win is on the cards.

Norwich have scored three or more goals in eight of their last nine home league wins and are the league’s leading scorers with 82 goals overall. Expect plenty of total goals.

Norwich have won their last four league encounters with Reading on the bounce but have not kept a clean sheet during that time.
