Newell’s Old Boys have been producing a poor campaign, but they do at least remain unbeaten under boss Hector Bidoglio, having registered two wins and two draws in their first four league matches under his tutelage. La Lepra are now on 20 points in the Argentinian top flight and will need to secure more points if they want to avoid being sucked into the fight against relegation next season.

Even though they still have a league game in hand, El Canalla’s campaign has been very disappointing so far, having collected only 19 points. To make matters worse, they are winless in their last seven away league matches, earning only two points during that spell and losing the last four league games consecutively.

A derby is always hard to predict, but Newell’s Old Boys seem to have received a genuine boost under their new coach while they are also unbeaten in their last six home league matches, having won four and drawn two of them.
