New York City was at home to the Red Bulls in the New York derby on Sunday night and came away with a narrow 1-0 victory courtesy of a goal by Maxi Moralez in the 85th minute. New York now has four wins in their past seven league matches along with one draw and two losses. New York City also has ten wins, four draws and four losses on the season and sit in second place in the East with their 34 points and leapfrogged over the Red Bulls with the win. They are unbeaten at home in 2018 with seven wins and a draw this year.

The Montreal Impact have won five of their last six games now and four in a row after edging the Colorado Rapids 2-1 at home last Saturday. Man of the match Saphir Taider scored in the 55th and 56th minutes to give the Impact a 2-0 lead and held onto it until Colorado scored in the 78th. Montreal hung on for all three points though even though their cleans sheet streak was ended at three games. The Impact has eight wins and 11 defeats on the season for 24 points and are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference. They have nine victories in their past 25 MLS outings though along with 16 defeats. The team hasn't drawn now in 39 straight games. Montreal enters this match with two wins and eight losses on the road this season.

New York is unbeaten at home while Montreal has lost eight of ten on the road. I'm expecting a New York City home win here.

New York City and the Montreal Impact have combined for three goals per game in their seven previous MLS meetings. I'm looking for a relatively high-scoring match.

New York City won 1-0 in Montreal last year and drew 1-1 at home. The teams have met just seven time in the league with New York winning four, losing one and drawing two.
