MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

New York City fought back twice in Columbus in the league last weekend to earn a 2-2 away draw. Heber scored in the 57th minute to level the game 1-1 and Valentin Castellanos tied the match 2-2 in the 76th minute. It was their second straight deadlock and New York City is now unbeaten in the past nine league games with four wins and five draws. They have lost just once in the league in 2019 with four wins and eight draws and have outscored their opponents 18-15. Their lack of wins means they are fighting tooth and nail to keep their playoff spot in the Eastern conference. The team return home to Yankee Stadium this week where they have one of the league's worst home records of one win and four draws while scoring just four times but allowing only three goals against.

FC Cincinnati is finding out just how tough the top flight of football is in America after going down 3-1 in Colorado last weekend. It was their third straight league defeat and tenth of the season to go with three wins and two draws. They sit in last place in the East and the league with 11 points out of 45 and have been outscored 28-12. Once again though Cincinnati hung tough until late in the game. They fell behind after 43 minutes only to see Kekuta Manneh tie things up after 72 minutes. The team then conceded the winning goal just a minute later and allowed Colorado to score an insurance marker in the 82nd minute.

New York City has just one home win but they haven't lost at Yankee Stadium either. Cincinnati has one win in nine away league matches but have lost seven times on the road - more than any other side. I don't see New York blowing a chance for three points at home against the league's newest and last place side.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST TEAM TO SCORE – NEW YORK CITY

FC Cincinnati has scored the least amount of goals in the American top flight, with 12 goals in 15 league matches, and have netted an average of just 0.67 in their nine away league games. They have opened the scoring just three times in nine away league contests and fans should expect New York City to strike first here.

HEAD TO HEAD

This is the first league meeting between the sides.
