USA Major League Soccer---New England Revolution VS Montreal Impact

The New England Revolution is expecting to be without Isaac Angking for this league match.

The Montreal Impact expect to be without Ignacio Piatti, Ken Krolicki and goalkeeper Jason Beaulieu due to injuries.

Having drawn one and lost five times so far, the New England Revolution won for only the second time in their last eight league games as they edged the struggling New York Red Bulls 1-0 at home at the weekend. Substitute Cristian Penilla scored the lone goal in the 73rd minute, just two minutes after entering the league game. It was a huge three points, but New England has scored just once in their past three league games as they were shut out in their previous two league matches. The Revolution now has two wins and three defeats at home in league action and have been outscored 7-3. They climb to seven points on the season and out of the Eastern basement.

The Montreal Impact's three-game unbeaten streak in the league (one win, two draws) came to an end in Philadelphia last weekend with a 3-0 loss. It was also the first time the Impact allowed a goal this month following three straight clean sheets and 289 minutes of play. Montreal conceded in the 14th, 45th and 57th minutes and didn't mount much of an attack with star player Ignacio Piatti missing his fifth straight game with a leg injury. Montreal remains at 11 points on the season from three wins, two draws and three losses in the league. They visit New England this midweek as one of the league's better away clubs with eight out of a possible 21 points from two wins, two draws and three losses, but they have been doubled in scoring 14-7.

The Montreal Impact has played seven of their eight league games on the road, but failed to score in two league visits to New England last season. I'm expecting a close New England Revolution win here, especially after they beat the New York Red Bulls last weekend.

Two of the teams' last three league meetings have ended in an even score as well as four of the Montreal Impact's last five away league matches and three of the New England Revolution's five home league games. I'm expecting an even scoreline in this league match too.

The teams met three times in the league in 2018 with the New England Revolution winning 1-0 and 4-0 at home and the Montreal Impact claiming their home fixture 4-2.
