MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: DRAW

Minnesota Utd followed up their 3-1 home league win over the San Jose Earthquakes with a 3-2 away league victory against the Montreal Impact last weekend. They have now scored an impressive 13 goals in their past three league fixtures. Minnesota fell behind in the first minute last time out, but they drew level through man of the match Mason Toye eight minutes later. Montreal regained the lead in the 13th minute, but it was 2-2 at the break due to an Ethan Finlay penalty kick just before the half-time whistle. Toye then scored the winner two minutes after the restart. Minnesota now has three straight league wins following three consecutive league defeats. They have 30 out of 57 points on the season with nine wins, three draws and seven losses in league action and they occupy a top-seven playoff spot in the West.

Man of the match Santiago Mosquera scored his first league goal of the season for FC Dallas in the sixth minute against DC United last week and Dominique Badji also scored in their 2-0 home league win. Goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez posted the clean sheet and the visitors were reduced to ten men in the 73rd minute with a red card. Dallas were edged 1-0 away against the Portland Timbers in the league several days earlier to see their four-game unbeaten league streak end at two wins and two draws. They now have 29 points this season out of 60 and, sitting in fifth, they are in the middle of the playoff race in the West with several teams within striking distance of them.

FC Dallas didn't allow a goal against Minnesota Utd in two league meetings last year, but they have struggled on the road in league action this season. I think this league match ends in a draw.

SECOND PREDICTION: HILO – LOW

Just one of the four league encounters between these teams has seen more than two total goals scored. I feel this league contest will see fewer than three total goals, too.

HEAD TO HEAD

FC Dallas won 2-0 at home and 1-0 away in the league against Minnesota Utd last season. They have won three and lost only one of the league meetings between the teams.
