TEAM NEWS

Shane Ferguson and Byron Webster, who have both been out with long-term injuries, are the only casualties for Neil Harris’ Millwall for Saturday’s important clash at the Den.

Preston forward Sean Maguire will miss the trip to London for Alex Neil’s men. However, North End have no other injury or suspension worries.

MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Millwall have impressed at times on their return to the Championship, but they still have work to do in the race for survival. After 26 matches, the Lions are 15th in the table on 30 points. Before thumping Barnsley 4-1 in the FA Cup last weekend, Neil Harris’ troops were beaten 2-1 at Norwich. Prior to that setback, though, the Londoners had won three, drawn two and lost one of their previous six.

Although Preston were on the wrong end of 3-2 thriller at home to Middlesbrough last time in the league, Alex Neil’s boys have certainly improved of late. The Lilywhites, who have won five of their last nine league games, are three points adrift of the playoffs. North End also sealed a big 5-1 away win over Wycombe in the FA Cup last Saturday.

Millwall are very hard to beat on home soil, losing just three times at the Den all season. Since their last home defeat, the Lions have won three and drawn two. I’m backing Millwall to win at home again on Saturday.

SECOND PREDICTION: ODD/EVEN – ODD

Two of Millwall’s last three home wins have come by one goal. I’m predicting odd goals to be scored at the Den here.

HEAD TO HEAD

Only one goal has been scored in the last two meetings between Millwall and Preston. The reverse match this season ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

Prediction: Millwall to win
