Yamaga report no injuries but miss Daizen Maeda, who is at the Copa America with a very experimental Japan squad. Yamato Machida has been added to the injury list with a fracture in his foot.

Vegalta will have Ramon Lopes available after suspension but are missing Kentaro Seki and Kim Jung-ya to injury and Keiya Shiihashi to the Japan Under-22 squad. Ryo Germain was added to the injury list this week and will be out for two months.

Yamaga were held 1-1 at home to Shimizu S-Pulse before the break for international games, their goal coming from Leandro Pereira. Before that they grabbed a win over Nagoya Grapus and are looking string at the moment. While Daizen Maeda's powerful runs will be missed, his goals may not be – just one goal in his season so far. In fact Yamaga have scored eight league goals with no player scored more than two goals. This is a team who play for each other and cover the gaps well. They can play as normal even without one of their stars, I feel.

Vegalta surprised Nagoya Grampus, and everyone else with a 3-1 home win before the international break. Two goals from Shun Nagasawa and the 6th-minute opener from Kaina Yoshio earned the J1 win. I wonder if that Vegalta team will turn up again or they will be back to their frgaile, wasteful selves for this match. Certainly their hosts are harder fighters than Grampus and give 100% to the cause.

The key for me, in the end here, is that Vegalta do not have a single point away from home, while Yamaga have eight – half – of their points at home this year. A narrow home win it is!

Three of Yamaga's four league wins have been 1-0, while they have only scored more than one goal once this season. A narrow home win indeed!

The last time these two teams met was in 2015 when Yamaga were last in J1, when each team won their home game.
