----------------------------------------

Real Mallorca: Bad start ( Recent Form: L D L L L )

Real Mallorca came out of the starting blocks like a rocket at the start of the season by knocking Eibar directly in the first round. Since then, however, it has been doom and gloom for the red shirts, who only had a meager point in the six games that followed. In particular mentally, the team of coach Vicente Moreno is put to the test, because there is a danger that the players will lose heart. Real Mallorca is experiencing its worst season start in more than 35 years, although the team does not play nearly as badly as the current form suggests. There are eleven fighters on the field who go through each other's fire, but the team is out of luck with balls on the pole and questionable VAR decisions against Los Bermellones. Real Mallorca certainly creates chances for its own audience, but the fact that Dani Rodriguez (1 goal) and Ante Budimir (2 goals) were the only ones to cheer after seven rounds of playing shows that there is quite a lot missing.

Espanyol: Hope for the turnaround ( Recent Form: D L D L W )

A dramatic season is also underway at Espanyol. The Catalans won only one of their seven league matches this season, and are in the Spanish relegation zone with just five points. The blues and whites in the Europa League did succeed surprisingly with a 0-2 win at CSKA Moscow last Thursday. "Hopefully this means the turnaround," said spokesman and club icon Joan Capdevila. Thanks to that handsome European victory in Russia, trainer David Gallego has some air again, although the priority is of course the relegation battle in his own country. The win at CSKA Moscow is good for the moral, but the travel time is of course to the disadvantage of Espanyol. "I don't understand why they kick us off at 12:00 after such a long journey," Capdevila said. "It's not an excuse, but of course we could have played better on Sunday night." So it will not be easy for the blue and white, who will have to miss their best defender and best attacker on Sunday afternoon with Fernando Calero (suspended) and Jonathan Calleri (injured).

THE BETTING VERDICT:

After all, Real Mallorca has so far grabbed all of its points at home and is therefore a light favorite, but remember that Espanyol has recently outperformed its own RCDE Stadium. In fact, the Catalans have been unbeaten on foreign soil in all competitions for more than half a year. I will pick the guests in Asian handicap.
