Noboru Shimura and Naoki Otani will be missing for Zelvia, while Dorian Baunski is not yet fully fit and should be considered doubtful.

Tatsuya Masushima returned as a substitute last weekend for JEF after his recent Appendix operation, but Yusuke Tasaka is still out.

Three different scorers gave a hard-working Machida Zelvia a 3-0 away win at Fagiano Okayama last weekend in J2. It was their first win in nine league matches in which they have picked up five points from a possible 27 at stake. Just six points away from safety, they are in danger of being dragged down into a relegation fight and these matches against teams around them must be won, or at least drawn. Last week’s win will have boosted their confidence and relived their pressure and they will now be looking to show their home fans something, also, having not won at home in their last 11 attempts!

JEF went down to a 3-0 home defeat to Ventforet Kofu last weekend in J2. This was their 4th league defeat running and 5th in six games. Their only four wins in their last 17 league games have come against teams currently in the bottom seven and they're looking even worse than their usual inconsistent this month. Expect a struggle in this one and, if they lose more the pressure will really begin to tell.

Zelvia can build on last week's impressive win and finally pull themseleves out of danger with a home win here.

Both defences are suspect but Zelvia have hit eight goals in their last five league games, even though they have only won one of them. JEF have leaked 10 goals in their last four but even when losing have managed to score – of their 13 league losses this season, they have only failed to score in three of them. I expect a home win, but a goal for JEF so we have at least three goals in this game.

In J2 matches between these two teams last season JEF won at home and drew away, while earlier in 2019  Zelvia won 2-1 away from home.
