Maastricht could still be without Hawbir Moustafa.

RKC Waalwijk will see Melle Meulensteen return. However, three players are still out or doubtful, including key players Kevin Vermeulen and Mario Bilate.

Maastricht have done well recently and were close to clinching the third period. However, their 2-0 loss away at Go Ahead Eagles two weeks ago brought their five-match winning streak in the league to a halt. Maastricht hosted Almere City in their most recent league outing and were the first ones to take the lead as Koen Kostons scored in the 56th minute. They couldn’t hold on to the win though as they conceded a goal late in the game, drawing 1-1.

RKC Waalwijk were enjoying a five-match winning run in the Dutch second division earlier this year, too, but they have now secured just one point from their last four league games. They hosted Cambuur in their most recent league fixture but were unable to book a good result, losing 2-0 after conceding a goal in each half. They fell behind early, conceding the first goal after only eight minutes played, and shipped a second goal in the 88th minute.

Maastricht will not be pleased with their last two results in league action, but with ten points from their last four home league games, I still feel that they have the momentum on their side. I’m going with a home win.

Three of Maastricht’s last four home league victories have been won by two goals. However, they have also conceded in each of their last five league fixtures. I’m going for a 3-1 home win.

Interestingly, Maastricht haven’t won against RKC Waalwijk in league action since April 2016, six league meetings ago.
