-----------------------------------

Liverpool: Seven-goal match in the Champions League ( Recent Form: L W W W W )

Champions League winner Liverpool wants to win the Premier League this season. In fact: The Reds would rather be the best in England than they would be the best in Europe. Unfortunately for Liverpool supporters, we are currently living in the Guardiola era, making it once again very difficult for Liverpool to finish above Guardiola’s Manchester City. Nevertheless, Liverpool already has five points more than Manchester City and The Reds have it completely in their own hands. Of course the Premier League is only seven games on the way, so it is even more striking that Liverpool already has a reasonable lead over the current national champion. In the Champions League, Liverpool is no longer flawless, as The Reds lost 2-0 to Napoli in their first group duel. Wednesday the second group match was scheduled for Liverpool when Red Bull Salzburg, the old club of Sadio Mané, was a guest at Anfield. It was a crazy duel. After 36 minutes, Liverpool was already 3-0 ahead of the talent club from Austria, but then Salzburg managed to fight back to 3-3. In the end it was Mohamed Salah who gave Liverpool the victory after just under seventy minutes of play, but of course Jürgen Klopp was furious about how his team gave away a 3-0 lead.

Leicester City: Good place in the standings ( Recent Form: W L W W W )

Leicester City is no longer the champion in the Premier League, but it is certainly not inconceivable that The Foxes will surprise the English league this season. A look at the Premier League rankings tells us that Leicester City is in third place with only two points less than Manchester City. The team of Brendan Rodgers already managed to get fourteen points in the Premier League this season and Leicester City only lost to Manchester United (1-0) in a competition, while that defeat was actually completely unjustified. Leicester City played three more games after the defeat at Old Trafford and those three games were all won by The Foxes. First, Tottenham Hotspur was beaten 2-1 at the King Power Stadium, then Leicester City in the Carabao Cup 0-4 was too strong for Luton Town and last week a 5-0 (!) Victory over Newcastle United. Fair is fair: Newcastle United played the entire second half with ten men and in the second half Leicester City scored four of the five goals. Nevertheless, it is of course incredibly clever of Leicester City that a stiff team like Newcastle United is defeated with 5-0.

THE BETTING VERDICT:

After all, Liverpool still score steadily, the deadlock match against Sheffield United is the only time this team has scored less than 2 goals this season. Meanwhile, the defense of the Merseyside team is more often conceded than last season.
