England Championship -- Leeds United  VS  Derby County

Leeds could be without a number of key players, with Barry Douglas, Stuart Dallas, Tom Pearce, Patrick Bamford and Liam Cooper all doubtful while Kalvin Phillips is suspended. Gaetano Berardi, meanwhile, is out with a hamstring strain.

Mason Bennett, Scott Malone, Curtis Davies, Craig Forsyth and Marcus Olsson will all miss the trip to Elland Road for Frank Lampard’s Derby. Harry Wilson will be hoping to shrug off a hip issue.

Suspended: Kalvin Phillips

Doubtful: Barry Douglas (knock), Stuart Dallas (foot), Tom Pearce (toe); Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper (both knee)

Injured/unavailable: Gaetano Berardi (hamstring)

Suspended: None

Doubtful: Harry Wilson (hip)

Injured/unavailable: Mason Bennett (hamstring), Scott Malone (groin), Curtis Davies (Achilles tendon); Craig Forsyth, Marcus Olsson (both cruciate ligament)

Leeds will be hoping to bounce back after crashing to back-to-back league defeats for the first time under Marcelo Bielsa. United were beaten 2-0 by Hull City at Elland Road before losing 4-2 to Nottingham Forest in their opening league game of 2019. The club were also beaten 2-1 at QPR in the third round of the FA Cup last weekend, exiting the competition. Nonetheless, despite taking zero points from their last two league fixtures, the Whites remain top of the table, two points clear of Norwich.

Derby currently sit in sixth place in the table after 26 league games. Frank Lampard has made a positive impact at Pride Park since arriving last summer, guiding the Rams to 12 league wins thus far. County have started 2019 with two draws across all competitions, drawing 1-1 with Middlesbrough in the league last time out and 2-2 with top-flight team Southampton in the third round of the FA Cup last weekend; a replay is scheduled for next week.

This is a huge league fixture at Elland Road, which could go either way. Leeds will be desperate to hit back after two league defeats in a row, and I’m backing the leaders to return to winning ways here.

Leeds have won all of their last six league victories by one goal. Derby have drawn a blank in only one of their last nine league matches. A 2-1 win for the home side looks likely.

Derby have won just one of their last four league fixtures against Leeds, losing two and drawing one.
