The LA Galaxy are expecting to be without Romain Alessandrini, Diego Polenta and Rolf Feltscher while Julian Araujo is on international duty.

The New England Revolution is expecting to be without Isaac Angking while Justin Rennicks is on international duty. Goalkeeper Matt Turner is suspended and Michael Mancienne is questionable.

LA Galaxy

Injured/unavailable: Romain Alessandrini (knee surgery), Julian Araujo (international duty), Rolf Feltscher (leg), Diego Polenta (ankle)

New England Revolution

Doubtful: Michael Mancienne (foot)

Injured/unavailable: Isaac Angking (knee), Justin Rennicks (international duty)

The LA Galaxy snapped their four-game losing skid in the league with a 1-0 win in Orlando City last weekend and then paid a trip to Sporting Kansas City during the week. They took off from Kansas with a 2-0 league win and now have three wins in their past eight league matches with four losses and one draw. The result sees them with 28 league points and they remain safely in the playoff zone in the West.

The New England Revolution are on a bit of a roll following their 1-1 home league draw with DC United last time out. They are unbeaten in the past three league games at a win and two straight draws since Brad Friedel was replaced as team manager. Juan Agudelo gave the Revolution the lead after 61 minutes even though goalkeeper Matt Turner was sent off with a straight red card. However, New England finally caved in when Wayne Rooney equalized on a penalty kick in the 90th minute. The team improves to 13 points from three wins, four draws and eight losses in league action with just 15 goals scored and 32 allowed.

With the LA Galaxy playing at home and the New England Revolution having not a single away league win this season, I like the chances for a home win.

These teams have combined for 22 total goals in their last four league meetings for an average of 5.5 per game and with none of them featuring fewer than four total goals. I'm expecting at least three total goals in this showdown.

The LA Galaxy were 3-2 winners away in the league last season and have two victories, a draw and a defeat in the last four league encounters
