Sanga lost at fellow promotion-challengers Omiya Ardija last weekend, their only goal in the 3-1 defeat coming from Keiya Sento. After a six-game unbeaten run they finally lost to a very good Ardija team who will surely be challenging for promotion. But Sanga will also feel that they can hit the top six this season. Their confidence is growing, the younger players are gaining experience and showing well, while the older players are giving guidance, but staying on the bench when it is suitable. In other words the whole squad is playing as a team.

Ryukyu held on to their 30-match unbeaten home record last weekend in J2 with a 1-1 draw against Zweigen Kanazawa. Koji Suzuki scored the equaliser in the 69th minute. While they have this extended home unbeaten record they have not won away from home for seven league games – seeing five losses and two draws in that run, and scoring just four goals in those games. It seems they have settled for trying to hold on to a record breaking home run and give their all in those games, forsaking away matches or treating them as something much less.

Sanga's current form, combined with Ryukyu's away form leads to only one conclusion – a home win.

Away from home Ryukyu have only led at half time once this season, while Sanga have not been behind at the break at home all year. Expect Sanga to know and take advantage of Ryukyu's away weakness and score early... and go on to win.

These two teams have never met in league play.
