Jong Ajax (Youth)  VS  FC Eindhoven Livescore | Match Preview | Match Statistics
Jong team to hand FC Eindhoven sixth straight loss
Jong Ajax’ Azor Matusiwa is suspended after his straight red while the club are also without Navajo Bakboord, Reda Boultam and Vaclav Cerny.
FC Eindhoven saw Abdelmalek El Hasnaoui substituted after just 37 minutes on Friday. It is unclear if he is available here. Kyle Da Silva returns from injury, but the club still has a lengthy list of absentees to deal with.
Jong Ajax
Suspended: Azor Matusiwa
Doubtful: None
Injured/Unavailable: Reda Boultam (metatarsal), Vaclav Cerny (torn ligaments), Navajo Bakboord (knee)
FC Eindhoven
Suspended: None
Doubtful: Abdelmalek El Hasnaoui
Injured/Unavailable: Alessio Carlone, Fries Deschilder, Thomas Horsten, Jarno Janssen (all torn knee ligaments); Guy Smit (broken leg), Ruud Swinkels (damaged knee ligaments), Mart Lieder (appendix), Maxime Gunst (Achilles injury)
Jong Ajax failed to book a good result when they hosted Go Ahead Eagles on Friday. They fell 2-0 and with NEC Nijmegen posting a victory over Volendam, this saw them drop to second place in the standings. The loss ended a six-game home winning streak, with Jong Ajax suffering only their second defeat on their own turf this season.
FC Eindhoven didn’t fare much better during the previous round as they lost by a 3-1 scoreline to Fortuna Sittard. Doriano Kortstam netted his first goal of the season to halve the deficit in the 72nd minute, but not long thereafter, Fortuna booked the 3-1 victory. Their results have been dreadful of late and the injury-ridden side have fallen into 16th position. They have now lost five straight and eight out of their last ten games.
FC Eindhoven are dealing with too many injuries to salvage anything from this match. It should be easy pickings for Jong Ajax.
Jong Ajax have allowed just three goals during the first half at home this season and FC Eindhoven lead the league in most goals allowed at an average of 2.14 goals per game. I expect the hosts to open the scoring.
Jong Ajax are yet to defeat FC Eindhoven at home. The Jong side have lost twice and drawn twice. Last season the Amsterdam outfit held Eindhoven to a 1-1 draw at home. However, they did manage to defeat FC Eindhoven 3-2 away from home earlier this term.
