Jong Ajax are without Sven Botman. He has collected five yellow cards.

Go Ahead Eagles have Jeroen Veldmate available while only Jaroslav Navratil is out.

Jong Ajax booked a 3-1 win away at Helmond in their last league outing. The youngsters didn’t have too much trouble when seeing off the weak Brabant side. Danilo Pereira da Silva put the visiting side ahead after just ten minutes played. Ryan Gravenberch scored the 2-0 in the 55th minute and it was Nicolas Kuhn who scored a final time ten minutes later. Jong Ajax conceded a Helmond consolation goal in stoppage time, but their three goals were enough for a comfortable victory. Jong Ajax have now won 14, drawn seven and have lost 12 league games. However, their recent results have been inconsistent with two wins, two draws and two losses in their last six league outings.

Go Ahead Eagles hosted Jong AZ Alkmaar in the last round and booked a hard-fought 1-0 league win. Istvan Bakx scored the only goal in the 70th minute. The team are sitting in third place with 60 points from their 33 league games. They are trailing second-placed Sparta Rotterdam by five points and have won four, drawn one and lost two of their last seven league fixtures.

Go Ahead Eagles have lost just one of their last six away league games (three wins, two draws), while Jong Ajax have failed to win any of their last four home league matches (three draws, one loss). I’m going for an away win in this one.

Three of Go Ahead Eagles’ last four league wins have featured fewer than three total goals. I would not be surprised to see a low score here, too.

Go Ahead Eagles are yet to lose in this head-to-head, having won four and drawn one of their five league encounters.
