Ondrej Mazuch, Reece Burke and Fraizer Campbell are all doubts for Hull City. Meanwhile, Angus MacDonald is out for the remainder of the season with a calf problem. Reading will be without Jordan Obita for the rest of the season while Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, Liam Anthony Kelly, Anssi Jaakkola, Saeid Ezatolahi and Sam Baldock are doubtful.

After going three league games without a win (two defeats, one draw), Hull City picked up an easy 2-0 victory against bottom club Ipswich at Portman Road last time out, with Kamil Grosicki helping himself to a brace. That was the Tigers’ first away league win since beating Leeds 2-0 at Elland Road back in late December. Meanwhile, Hull have been incredibly strong at the KCOM Stadium lately, winning seven and drawing three of their last ten league fixtures on home turf.

Reading secured a crucial 2-1 league win over in-form Preston at the Madejski Stadium in their last matchup. The Royals have been in decent shape of late, winning three, drawing one and losing only one of their last five league contests. Meanwhile, Jose Gomes’ side have lost just two of their previous 11 league fixtures (four wins, five draws). Reading are only four points above the bottom three, so a positive result at the KCOM Stadium could be massive in their quest for survival.

On paper, this should be an easy win for Hull City. As I mentioned, the Tigers are in terrific form at home, but Reading will make themselves hard to beat. It could be a close one, but my money is going on a narrow win for the home team.

Hull City have scored first in each of their last seven league matches at home, picking up five wins and two draws in the process. Back the hosts to open the scoring at the weekend.

Hull City have not beaten Reading since a 2-1 win at the Madejski Stadium back in April 2016, drawing twice and losing once in the meantime.
