Glasgow Rangers: Unstable performance ( Recent Form: L W D D W )

Due to economic difficulties, the insolvency proceedings against the Rangers were opened in 2012. Since the liabilities could not be paid, the Rangers had to play a forced relegation from the 2012/13 season in the fourth Scottish league. In the season 2015/16, the "Gers" succeeded in re-emergence in the first Scottish league. In the first season after the rise Glasgow finished third. Last season, Rangers FC finished second, 13 points behind champions Celtic Glasgow. The Rangers won 19 games last season. There were also five draws and nine defeats. The goal difference after 33 games was 67:38. Away, Glasgow scored ten points more with 36 points than at home. Of 16 away games only two were lost. In the domestic Ibrox Stadium, however, there were seven failures in 17 matches. At the end of last season, the Rangers were coached by interim coach Jimmy Nichollo. After the 0-5 defeat against city rivals Celtic, the Rangers had separated from coach Graeme Murty. At the beginning of last season, Pedro Caixinha was still the responsible coach. This season, Steven Gerrard, a well-known Premier League Premier, took over as coach. Gerrard has signed a contract in the Scottish capital until 2022. For the former professional footballer, who played for Liverpool FC for 26 years and made 114 appearances for the senior England team, Rangers is the first major coaching job. Gerrad is to reduce the distance of Rangers on Celtic. The Green-Whites have become champions for the seventh time in a row, winning the recent Old Firm as mentioned before with 5-0 and have been unbeaten for six years against the Rangers. For the new coach, the game against Shkupi will be his competitive debut. Under the new coach, the club has so far announced nine new entrants: Umar Sadiq, Lassana Coulibaly, goalkeeper Allan McGregor, Jon Flanagan, Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic, Scott Arfield, Ovie Ejaria and Jamie Murphy. A first Test match against the English fourth division Bury FC was won 6-0. Previously, the club completed a ten-day training camp in Spain.

FK Korzo Prilep: Five consecutive wins ( Recent Form: W W W W W )

Macedonia is currently ranked 37th in the UEFA five-year rating, eleven behind Scotland. The FK Shkupi has only been in existence since 2012. The predecessor club, FK Sloga Jugomagnat Skopje, has already won three championships in Macedonia and won the national cup twice. Together with the FC Albarsa became in 2012 from the FK Sloga Jugomagnat Skopje then the FK Shkupi. The predecessor club of Shkupi has already taken part nine times in the European Cup qualification, but never got beyond the second round. In 2015, FK Shkupi managed to climb into the Prva Makedonska Liga, the highest Macedonian league. Last season, the White-Blue finished fourth, 40 points behind Master Shkendija Tetovo. In the last season, there were 13 wins, 12 draws and 11 draws for the FK. The goal difference after 36 games was 51:46. Away, the team could win only three of 18 games. At home you got twice as many points as away. For Shkupi itself, it is the first European Cup participation. The club and its fans attach great importance to their Albanian roots. The national championship starts in Macedonia just over two weeks after the first European League round. The team of coach Zekirija Ramadani had completed a 12-day training camp in Bolla, Turkey. For the new season, the club has strengthened with five new games: Muarem Muarem, Amir Bilal, Artan Veliu, Sergio Antonio De Luiz Junior and goalkeeper Igor Aleksovski. From the test matches in preparation for the Europa League game Shkupi could win only one. The Macedonians played against Gjilan (2: 0), Nefci (0: 2), Levadia Talinn (1: 1) and AFC Dunarea Calarasi (1: 3).

After all, Macedonians certainly have nothing to lose with the big favorite Glasgow and will therefore be without fear. But the Rangers are likely to be significantly better occupied in each position than Shkupi. In addition, the team has some tailwind from the new coach. Sure, there is still a lot of sand in the transmission and not all new players are integrated into the team. But the team of Steven Gerrard is only on fourth place in the Macedonian league. Anything but a clear victory of the home side would be a surprise. Thus, we put our tip on a victory of the Glasgow Rangers in the Europa League qualifier game against Shkupi despite a handicap of 2.5 goals for the hosts.
