Fiorentina: New trainer ( Recent Form: D L D D L )

The competition is almost over for Fiorentina. After winning only one of the last eleven matches, it dropped to tenth place. It is ten points behind in seventh place that can give the right to European football and eleven points ahead of the relegation zone. With seven games to go, the team does not seem to play a role on either side. However, there is still an important semi-final for the Coppa Italia on the program at the end of this month. In that case only an away win in Bergamo seems sufficient as Fio played 3-3 at home against Atalanta. La Viola lost last weekend at home of relegation candidate Frosinone, this was the straw for both trainer Stefan Pioli and club management. The coach wrote an open letter to the fans that he no longer felt confident and therefore resigned. His position is taken over by Vincenzo Montella. The former striker of Sampdoria and AS Roma, among others, was already a trainer in Florence between 2012 and 2015. He was quite successful here, three seasons in a row the club ended in fourth place under his leadership. In his second season he led Fio to the only Coppa Italia final in the past eighteen years, which will now also be his short-term goal. In his third and final season, Fiorentina even reached the semi-final of the Europa League in which it was defeated by the later winner Sevilla.

Bologna: Won four of the last five games ( Recent Form: W W W L W )

Bologna has been in eighteenth place for ten rounds in a row but has been revived under the new coach Siniša Mihajlović. Since his arrival, four of the five duels have been won and the joy of playing has returned. Cagliari, Sassuolo and Chievo were won in-house. Off also a team from the left row was defeated, namely Torino. Due to the good performance, Bologna is now two points above the line. This advance came just in time, considering that only two of the last seven games were against teams from the right-hand row. Last Monday, nothing but a win was expected against Chievo, but I Rossoblu kept it exciting for a long time. With the exception of a short period in the first half, Bologna was the parent, but was unable to cash in on the odds. Rick penalties by Erick Pulgar in the 65th and 68th minute brought Bologna the justified victory. Mitchell Dijks also made a contribution, he made the 3-0 after a rush over the left shortly before the final signal.

THE BETTING VERDICT:

After all, Fiorentina is struggling and won only one of the last eleven duels. Where these were mainly draws at the start of the series, both Cagliari and Frosinone were lost in the last four games. Bologna is doing well and won four of the five games under the new coach. Just like in November I see Bologna grabbing at least one point and so I go for Bologna +0.5, which is the same bet as Bologna or draw (double chance).
