Fagiano went down 2-0 away at FC Ehime last weekend in J2. It was their second league defeat running after four wins. In fact, before these two defeats they had just one loss in 11 league games and were looking quite solid. It would seem that long-term injuries are taking their toll in fatigue now? Too much reliance on one goalscorer – Lee Yong-jae – may not be good for this team and they are, as they did last season, struggling to keep up with promise. I feel that they may still have something left in the tank and would probably give them something against most teams but their visitors today will be a tough proposition.

Ardija took the points in a promotion battle last weekend in J2, at home to Montedio Yamagata. The 3-2 scoreline came courtesy of goals from Robin Simovic (2) and Akimi Barada. The team will be happy to be back winning after a couple of recent losses and then a draw at bottom club FC Gifu two games back. The only two games they have lost in 22 league games have been away from home and this might be seen as their Achille's Heel but I think they have enough experience to know what they need to do in the coming weeks. Juanma was suspended, but Simovic scored two when he came in last week. The competition for places will be good and sour the players on.

Ardija should have too much for Fagiano in this one and go into a relatively easy run with another win.

13 of Fagiano's 34 league goals conceded this season have come in just the last seven league matches as they struggle to stay focused. Six have been conceded in the last two league matches. I feel they will look harder at defence in this game. Ardija may have a 6-0 win recently but in general their games are lower-scoring – less than half of their league games have seen more than two goals in total. I see a 0-1 0r 0-2 game here.

In J2 matches between these two teams last season Ardija won away and drew at home, while earlier this seaosn Ardija won 2-1 at home.
