FC Eindhoven  VS  Emmen Livescore | Match Preview | Match Statistics
Draw specialists Emmen to clinch one point for 12th time this term
FC Eindhoven have signed two players during the winter transfer window so far: Abdelmalek El Hasnaoui joins from Jong AZ Alkmaar and Rodney Klooster has arrived from Slovak side Trencin. However, seven players are likely to still be missing, with the majority suffering from heavy injuries.
Emmen saw Michiel Hemmen departing as his contract ran out at the beginning of the year. Central defender Keziah Veendorp has attracted the attention from some bigger sides and could be on his way out before long. Tim Siekman left the pitch with an injury in a friendly against Sportsfreunde Lotte earlier this month and it is uncertain whether he will play against FC Eindhoven.
FC Eindhoven
Suspended: None
Doubtful: None
Injured/Unavailable: Alessio Carlone, Fries Deschilder, Thomas Horsten, Jarno Janssen (all torn knee ligaments); Kyle Da Silva (meniscus), Guy Smit (broken leg), Tarik Kada (pulled muscle)
Suspended: None
Doubtful: Henk Bos, Tim Siekman (both unspecified)
Injured/Unavailable: None
FC Eindhoven are positioned in the middle of the pack. With seven wins and eight losses from their 19 games, the side sit in 12th, but they have all to play for as fifth-placed Jong PSV Eindhoven are only six points ahead of them. The Brabant side will be looking for more of the same from Mart Lieder who is the clear league top scorer with 16 goals in total. The addition of both Rodney Klooster and Abdelmalek El Hasnaoui is unlikely to be ground-breaking, but both players are expected to be given playing time and will provide manager Wilfred van Leeuwen with more options. The team suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat at Almere City before the winter break, but have lost only one of their last four home games.
Emmen are seventh and have been doing well. They are a tough nut to crack as they have only lost twice, the lowest amount of losses in the league, tied with NEC Nijmegen. The side have also drawn a league high 11 games, including their last three. Emmen will have to fill the gap that Michiel Hemmen leaves, although he wasn’t a regular, but he did bag four goals. The team drew 2-2 at home with Den Bosch last time out
FC Eindhoven are a mixed bag looking at their home results, winning and losing four. Emmen have been pretty decent away, with seven points from their last three and securing 13 points from their nine away games. With Emmen undefeated in their past seven games overall, it seems likely they can clinch yet another draw. I think Emmen on the +1 market is the safest outcome here.
Emmen have conceded the first goal in three of their last four league games while FC Einhoven have opened the scoring in five of their last six home games. I can see them netting the opener this time as well.
FC Eindhoven have won this fixture ten times across at home all competitions and have suffered only five defeats. However, they lost 1-0 at home last season and Emmen are in fact unbeaten in the last six.
