Ryukyu have signed the very experienced former Japan international Shinji Ono from Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo to shore up their midfield. The team reports no injuries.

V-Varen will have Yohei Otake suspended for one game for yellow card accumulation and they still miss Yusei Egawa, Yuki Omoto and Takumi Nagura to injury.

Suspended: None

Doubtful: None

Injured/Unavailable: None

Suspended: Yohei Otake (one game)

Doubtful: None

Injured/Unavailable: Yusei Egawa (knee injury), Yuki Omoto (left leg), Takumi Nagura (Thigh)

Ryukyu went ahead at Kashiwa Reysol last weekend in J2 on a goal from Koji Suzuki after a defensive error before getting slammed 5-1 in the end. They are now five games defeated in-a-row and just one win in 11 league games as they sink closer to the bottom of J2 every week. They have conceded 16 goals in their five losses and have scored just two. After their 30-game unbeaten home streak in the league ended they have lost three of their last four home league games now and their confidence is low.

Hiroto Goya gave V-Varen an early lead before they went down 3-1 at home to FC Gifu last weekend in J2. They have now lost to two relegation-threatened teams in two matches and slipped away from the play-off spots. They are six points adrift of 6th place. They will have the huge incentive to not lose again and the difference will be that their last two defeats were against improving teams while Ryukyu are sinking fast.

Incentive to stay with the promotion-chasing pack, combined with Ryukyu's dire form should give the win to V-Varen here.

15 of V-Varen's last 20 league games have seen three goals or more in total, while Ryukyu have been leaking goals for months now and only three of their last 12 league games have seen two goals or less in total.

Earlier this season was the first time these two teams met in league play when V-Varen won 3-2 at home.
