Djurgardens’ Haris Radetinac went off with a shoulder injury against Dalkurd last weekend.
Kennedy Igboananike and Johan Martensson are suspended for Orebro.
Suspended: None
Doubtful: Johan Andersson (foot), Jonathan Augustinsson (concussion)
Injured/unavailable: Haris Radetinac (shoulder), Besard Sabovic (cruciate ligament)
Suspended: Kennedy Igboananike, Johan Martensson
Doubtful: None
Injured/unavailable: None
Djurgardens have returned to winning ways after a 3-0 win in the cup final against Malmo last Thursday, their first title in 13 years, and a 1-0 league win against Dalkurd three days later. They had gone three games without a point before the cup final. Kerim Mrabti is back in the starting XI after his injury and the striker has made Djurgardens stronger. With the buzz created from the cup win they will go out in front of the home crowd and be able to play without fear.
Orebro lost for the first time this season at home to Hammarby on Sunday as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat. Kennedy Igboananike gave Orebro the lead after 13 minutes but he was sent off 20 minutes later and after that his team lost the grip of the game. After the final whistle midfielder Johan Martensson shoved the linesman. Both Igboananike and Martensson will be suspended for this game and face further disciplinary actions from the Swedish Football Association. Despite that recent disappointment, the team are still sitting in fourth on 15 points after eight games.
Without their key players, Orebro will face an uphill battle against Djurgardens away from home. Jonathan Augustinsson is the only key player potentially missing for Djurgardens and I’m therefore predicting a home win here.
Djurgardens have a goal difference of 4-2 in their last four competitive games, or 1.5 total goals on average, while Orebro have their top scorer, Kennedy Igboananike, who has scored five of their last eight goals, suspended for this match. I expect a low-scoring encounter.
Djurgardens have won the last six league meetings on the bounce. Orebro have been victorious only once in the last ten encounters in Allsvenskan – losing the other nine – and that was back in 2014.
