Copa America -- Brazil  VS  Peru

Brazil: Good chance ( Recent Form: W D W D W )

The whole of Brazil cried with him when Neymar got injured in the run-up to this Copa America and could write the tournament on his stomach. The disappearance of such a class box always causes a head coach a headache, but Tite has solved the situation perfectly. The road to the final sometimes had quite a few bumps - think for example of the 0-0 draw and victory after penalties against Paraguay in the quarterfinals - but the Brazilians are still where they want to stand, and have a view of their first first prize since 2007. The current success of Brazil is mainly due to the collective. The team of Tite is certainly not the most spectacular team in the rich history of the Seleção, but it is solid. That this is a good way to get far in a tournament, was clearly reflected in the semi-final against archrival Argentina. At Argentina, everything revolved around star player Lionel Messi, who really had to do everything alone. Although the Argentinian star got a lot of attention, it was usually so far from the Brazilian goal that he rarely became dangerous. The 2-0 victory of Brazil was one of the collective at the Argentinian one man show.

Peru: Surprising finalist ( Recent Form: D W L D W )

Peru is of course the major revelation of this Copa America. For the first time since 1975, Los Incas are again in the final of the Copa America, something even the most optimistic Peruvian would not have dreamed of beforehand. The red and white, however, this tournament is like a cat with nine lives. In the group stage, the country did not go any further than third place behind Brazil and Venezuela, but placed itself as one of the best numbers three for the quarterfinals. In those quarterfinals, Peru was completely taken off by Uruguay. Yet the country managed to get rid of a series of penalties, in which goalkeeper Pedro Gallese became the hero of the nation by turning a penalty kick from Luis Suarez. The Peruvians are certainly not to complain about luck, although they made an impression in the semifinals against defending champion Chile with a resounding 0-3 victory. With only 35 percent possession of the ball and only three goal attempts between the posts, Peru had to leave Chile the initiative, but managed to mercilessly punish the mistakes in the Chilean rear. "This is fantastic to experience," said attacker Raul Ruidiaz. "However, we remain standing with both feet on the ground." Peru and Brazil also met each other this Copa America in the group stage. Peru then saw all corners of the field with a 5-0 defeat, although coach Ricardo Gareca is not worried about that. 'We have recovered excellently from that earwash. That is typical of the strength of my players, "says the choice lord. 'The final will be a completely different competition anyway. We are ready for it and go full for the profit. " Peru is obviously the obvious underdog on Sunday evening and therefore has nothing to lose. "That is precisely the danger for Brazil," said Brazilian record international Cafu. "Peru is not afraid of anyone."

After all, Brazil is the big favorite on Sunday evening. The team of Tite did not have to allow this Copa America a single hit, and with twelve wins and three draws they are busy in a series of fifteen games without defeat. With Gallese, of course, Peru has a keeper in top form, although I can hardly imagine that he will also prevent the Brazilians from scoring. Brazil will take the initiative, after which it will probably only be a matter of time before the country takes the lead. However, this Brazil is not a samba football, so I don't think the host country will perform a real football show. I predict Brazil win & under 2.5 goals.
