MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: DRAW

Going back to 2017, reigning champions AIK Solna had just lost once in their last 45 league games (27 wins, 17 draws) before their 2-1 league defeat away at Orebro at the weekend as their opponents scored the winner in stoppage time. AIK Solna have not impressed so far this term and they have failed to score in two out of four matches in league action this season. They show glimpses of quality but considering the vast depth of their squad they should really be performing better. Their supporters are already starting to get disgruntled and manager Rikard Norling needs to produce improving results soon. The strikers are not scoring as they should. Last time out Henok Goitom and Jack Lahne started the league game but they did not fare better than Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke had in previous league contests as they failed to hit the back of the net. The club signed three central defenders during the winter but only one of them started against Orebro. These are problems that AIK Solna need to solve.

Hacken lost 1-0 at home in the league to Djurgardens at the weekend. They are so far the only club among those tipped at the top end who have played well from the start of the season. With seven points from four league games they are positioning themselves nicely for a title fight and have everyone available except midfielder Erik Friberg. Paulinho and Alexander Jeremejeff have an excellent striker partnership, perhaps the best in the league, and with Daleho Irandust providing the passes from midfield they pose a threat to every team in the league.

AIK Solna were undefeated at home in the league last season (ten wins, five draws) and are organised at the back, despite their recent troubles. However, Hacken are in better form and have attacking players who can make life difficult for the hosts. Based on the fact that AIK Solna have drawn two league games so far and that Hacken drew against Malmo in their only away league game against a top team this season, everything suggests that this will be a tight affair. I’m going with another draw.

SECOND PREDICTION: HILO – LOW

AIK Solna have scored three goals and conceded three in four league games while both their league draws have been scoreless. They continue to play it safe and build on their defence. Hacken are also solid at the back, with only three goals conceded. This league game will not be a high-scoring affair.

HEAD TO HEAD

AIK Solna have won two and drawn two of their last four league meetings.
