-----------------------------------

Genk: Already lagging behind in Belgium ( Recent Form: W D D W L )

Genk has not exactly got into shape this season. At home, Genk has already lost four of its ten league games played and the gap with league-leader Club Brugge has already risen to ten points. Last weekend, the team of coach Felice Mazzu lost 1-0 to Standard Liège. Title proliferation is currently very far away for Limburgers. The lower performance can partly be explained by the loss of some flavorings. Belgian international Leandro Trossard left for Brighton & Hove Albion for more than 20 million euros, while Roman Malinovskiy (Atalanta, 13.5 million) and Joseph Aidoo also contributed millions. In the Champions League, Genk is the main contender for the last place in the group. On the opening game round, Red Bull lost no less than 6-2, so that the Austrians can no longer be caught by mutual results. The Belgians must therefore take points against the superpowers Napoli and Liverpool. Against Napoli, three weeks ago Genk at least managed to score a point, because in the Cristal Arena there was no scoring by both teams. Now it is important not to close the diptych against defending champion Liverpool scoreless, because then the continuation of the European adventure becomes a difficult story.

Liverpool: No more flawless in their own country ( Recent Form: W W W W D )

Liverpool never managed to win the Premier League, but Jürgen Klopp has made the Reds the main title candidate. Last season, a record number of points (a number that would be sufficient for the league title after two seasons) was not enough to stay ahead of Guardiola's Manchester City, but this year Liverpool is proudly leading the Premier League. The first eight league matches were all won and as Manchester City lost twice, a big gap was immediately created with its biggest challenger. Last weekend the victory series in their own country came to an end. On a visit to arch-rival Manchester United, a draw was made with 1-1. The equalizer came just five minutes before the time of substitute Adam Lallana. Liverpool also suffered damage in the Champions League. Just like last season, the away match against Napoli was lost. The Italians were 2-0 too strong thanks to goals from Dries Mertens and Fernando Llorente, who punished a rare mistake by Virgil van Dijk. Three weeks ago, the team almost lost another point when Red Bull Salzburg equalized a 3-0 deficit at Anfield. Mohammed Salah then gave his team a 4-3 victory. By the way, it is questionable whether the little Egyptian will be there on Wednesday evening. He had to be absent in the derby last Sunday due to an ankle injury and chances are that Klopp will not use him yet. As a replacement he has a choice of Divock Origi, Adam Lallana or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

THE BETTING VERDICT:

After all, Liverpool have just won the national championship but this has no effect on their top spot. In the Champions League, after suddenly losing to Napoli, Jurgen Klopp's team had a victory against Salzburg despite a lot of hard work. To be a guest on Genk's field, it is likely that Liverpool will not let the subjectivity affect them like the game against Salzburg and also the experience that Napoli has left so that the mistake will not be repeated. Therefore, it is likely that Liverpool will easily have a big victory over host Genk.
