-----------------------------------

Lazio has started this season in a perfect way after beating Sampdoria away from home 0-3 last weekend. In that match, Lazio had 50% of ball possession, 10 shots on goal, 9 corner kicks, 83% of correct passes. Lazio was great in this match against a tough opponent and has shown us that they are capable of being calm and consistent in those 50-50 matches they were struggling last season in. Lazio has a great team led by Immobile, Alberto and Milinkovic-Savic who still might end up in a different team because there are a lot of clubs interested. Last season was a transition period both for this young team full of potential and their coach Simone Inzaghi who was signed back in 2016. Lazio is on a 7-game winning streak and at the moment it doesn't look that anybody can stop them. Last season Lazio ended up 8th in the standings and goal for this season is to get qualified for Champions League next season for which they certainly have the quality. Lazio is playing hard and tough soccer, especially in the midfield which is their strongest part and most of their attacking plays are going through the middle with through balls to Immobile and Correa. Lazio is a solid team who goes head to head with Milan, Roma, and Atalanta and in my opinion, will end up higher in the standings than last season.

Roma has slipped up in their opening game of new Serie A season against Genoa, one of the worst teams in the league. In that game Roma was by far the better team with 53% of ball possession, 9 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks and 85% of correct passes and the game has ended in a 3-3 draw. Roma was good in the attacking part, but was a disaster defensively, something they were struggling throughout the whole last season. Paulo Fonseca was signed as a Roma's head coach in July of this year. Judging by preseason period, Roma hasn't lost any of their game and if that is any indication, this club is going in the right direction with this young coach and the young team they have. Last season Roma ended up 6th in the standings and got qualified for Europa League. In the first match, Roma's best player was Dzeko who scored a goal and had an assist and if he stays healthy, Dzeko will be one of the top goal scorers in Serie A. Roma has a lot of young stars with big potential like Kluivert, Schick, Zaniolo, Pellegrini and Under who are the future of this club. Roma is playing fast and exciting soccer with a lot of passes and plays through their wings, but if they don't get some consistency on the defensive end Roma will struggle the same as last year.

This is a match between two teams from the same city, teams with some of the best fans in the world and one of the biggest rivalries in soccer. Both Lazio and Roma are playing in fantastic form and are scoring an insane amount of goals and for that reason, I expect the same thing in this match as well.

Pick: Over 1.5 goals
