Angus MacDonald and Jordy de Wijs, who both have calf issues, are out of this midweek league game for Hull City. Jon Toral, Ondrej Mazuch, Reece Burke and James Weir remain doubts, meanwhile.

Ryan Dale Williams, Jamie Proctor and Darren Potter are doubtful for Paul Warne’s Rotherham.

Hull City recently went on a ten-game unbeaten run in the league (seven wins, three draws), but the Tigers have now lost two of their last three league matches and have won just one of their previous four in the league, along with one draw. Last time out, Nigel Adkins’ side were beaten 2-0 at Pride Park by Frank Lampard’s Derby. Nonetheless, Hull are still in with a shout of reaching the top six this term, with the club currently seven points behind in 12th.

Rotherham failed to hold on to a lead in what would have been a vital victory in their last league match, drawing 1-1 at home with fellow strugglers Wigan. United have now picked up just one victory in league action since early November, drawing seven and losing seven in the process. Still, the Millers are above the drop zone, a point ahead of Reading, who sit 22nd. Meanwhile, Rotherham have the joint worst away record in the league, taking a mere five points thus far.

Rotherham are the only team in the English second division yet to win away from home this season. Because of that, I can see Paul Warne’s troops losing on their travels again here. Back Hull City to prevail on their own patch.

Hull City have been outstanding at the KCOM Stadium lately, winning each of their last five league matches on home soil, with the Tigers leading at half time in four of those. I fancy Hull to win the first half of this one.

There have been a staggering 11 goals scored in the last two league fixtures between Hull City and Rotherham, with the Tigers winning both (5-1 and 3-2).
