-----------------------------------

Ajax: Looks good ( Recent Form: W W W L W )

Last year, Ajax naturally had an absolute top season, in which the team from Amsterdam became champions, won the cup, and grabbed a place next to a place in the Champions League final. This season is also promising for the men of coach Erik ten Hag. With eight wins and two draws, the capitals are alone in the lead in the Eredivisie, and the first two group matches in the Champions League against Lille (3-0) and Valencia (0-3) were both won with ample figures. Despite the excellent results, the current Ajax still looks slightly less strong than that of last season. The red and white gave away a lot of chances against Lille, and last weekend in the difficult 1-2 victory at RKC Waalwijk they made it unnecessarily difficult for themselves. It is understandable that this season is running a bit stiffer, because players like Joël Veltman and Lisandro Martinez are of course not even allowed to tie the shoelaces of their predecessors Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong. The fact that Ajax knows how to set matches in which it is not going very well, shows the maturity of the team. In addition, goalkeeper Andre Onana has been in top form for the entire season - it is largely thanks to him that Ajax did not have to take a single goal in its first two Champions League duels.

Chelsea: Must grab points ( Recent Form: W W W W W )

The pressure lies mainly on Chelsea on Wednesday evening, who has to tolerate Valencia in group H with three points from two group games for the time being. then to pick up again two weeks later in 1-2 against Lille. The battle for the second ticket for the knockout phase of the Champions League is therefore still completely open. Chelsea can in any case rely on its current form. The Blues initially had a bad start to the competition with only two wins from their first six league matches, but the last five official games were all won by coach Frank Lampard's team. The defense remains a concern, although Chelsea finally managed to achieve her first two clean sheets of the season during that series. In both cases, however, that was on Stamford Bridge - on foreign soil, goalkeeper Kepa never managed to keep his goal clean. That does not promise much good for Wednesday evening, also because the defenders Emerson, Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen are in the rag basket. The good news, however, is that the London club scores incredibly easily with youngsters like Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount. The Ajax defenders will undoubtedly have their hands full again on this energetic duo on Wednesday evening.

THE BETTING VERDICT:

After all, both teams are showing a beautiful attacking style and dedication, the possibility that the match will have many eye-catching goals for fans to witness this match.
